Under the auspices of CAS and Beijing Municipal Government, the Nobel Laureates Beijing Forum 2007 will be held from 11 to 14 September. 

    Themed on "energy and the environment," the event will invite 15 world-renowned scholars, including nine Nobel laureates, to give speeches on such topics as solar energy industry, new approaches for energy production and sustainable development. Talks will be held among scholars on global change, energy saving, emission reduction, clean production and recycle economy. 

    The objective of the forum is to promote international cooperation in the field of energy and the environment and advance the development of technologies for new and renewable energy sources, and energy efficiency, says LV Yonglong, director-general of the CAS Bureau for International Cooperation and vice secretary-general of the forum.
